Aim of the Department :

The Office of the District Information & Public Relations Officer, Kendrapara works like a bridge between Administration & Public. It inform the people about the plans and programmes implemented by the Govt. and Create awareness for Peoples participation for high achievement and benefits of the programmes.

Different Activities of the Department :

The Office releases different press notes to the mass media on the works and programmes undertaken by the District Administration and observe and organise different National and Regional and Local celebrations, Jayanty Utsav, workshop, traditional folk Art form Information-cum entertainment programme respectively like Independence day, Republic day, Odisha day, Birth anniversary of eminent Baraputras and persons, Gaja Laxmipuja, Car Festival of Lord Sri Baladev jew, loss and found centre, Exhibition, Palla & Daskathia programmes, publicity of law & orders situations, emergency publicity, RTI Act sensitization programmes and submission of press cuttings on issues and matters to the District Administration etc.
Establishment of District Information & Public Relations Office, Kendrapara
Since 1989 the Office of the D.I&P.R.O is functioning under the direct establishment control of Govt. in I & PR Department and directly supervision under the District Magistrate & Collector, Kendrapara.

There is one post of District Information and Public Relation Officer, One Sub Divisional Information & Public Relations Officer, one Projectionist, one Senior Clerk deputation from Collectors establishment, one Junior Stenographer, one Junior Store keeper, one Driver and two Group ‘D’ Staffs are posted for smooth Managament of day to day Office work . There is one Information Centre-cum- reading room is functioning at the District Head Quarter, Kendrapara where different news papers, Magazines, different valuable books and reading materials are supplying to the readers. There is one clerk-cum-librarian, one literate peon and one group ‘D’ staff are posted in the Library for smooth Management of Library work.
