KENDRAPARA POLICE

Introduction: -

                        Law and order situation is always anticipated during observance of fairs and festivals, visits of VIP & VVIPs, agitational programmes by various political activities/organizations, elections and incidents occurred on sudden provocation. In some occasions law and order situation is also required to be maintained by the police pertaining to some crimes and criminals.

                        Apart from the above traffic congestion on N.H.5 (A) from Panchupandab to Bhutmundai covering about 46 KMs in this district is an headache to clear smooth passage of thousands of iron ore loaded trucks to Paradeep port which has got only capacity of 800 trucks to be unloaded per day. At times the trucks are stranded for 10/12 days time to enter inside Paradeep, which cause law and order situation on N.H.5 (A). In this regard District Magistrates, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jajpur have been requested to take appropriate measures to issue token to the drivers of trucks at loading points, by which traffic congestion could be averted for smooth passage of vehicular traffic.

Objective: -

        Maintenance of law and order in the district is the primary duty of the police to facilitate to the general public for leaving with all peace and tranquility.

Activities: -

                        Police has to remain active all times together to meet any eventuality.

Rules and responsibilities of District Police: -

                    District Police provides safety and security to the general public, takes positive rolls in prevention/detection of crimes in the district and maintain law and order as and when required.

Special Initiative taken under the District to improve L & O: -

                        All the field Officers of this District have been sensitized to remain alert and maintenance of law and order to avert any unpleasant situation / incident in their respective jurisdictions.

Achievement:-
                        No major law and order situation has so far been taken place in this district due to adequate and timely police arrangements as and when necessary for peace and tranquility in the district. As a result communal harmony is well established in all over the district.

PIOs: -

                        In pursuance of the provisions contained in Section-5 of the Right to information Act-2005 & Rules-3 of the Orissa Right to Information Rules, 2005, the following officers of Kendrapara district are designed as Public Information Officers in their respective jurisdictions as noted below as per Govt. of India Ministry of Public grievance & pension Dept. personal & training communication vide S.P Hdqrs. Letter No. 2097/Con dtd. 24.04.08, Sri Baman Charan Panda, OPS, DSP, Hqrs, Kendrapara is designed as Nodal Officer with the authority to receive requests for information on behalf of all PIOs & Appeals addressed to the Appellate Authority (S.P., Kendrapara) he will ensure that the applications/appeals received are distributed/handed over to the concerned PIOs/Appeals Authority without any delay.
